You at a certain point you cannot tell the difference between 150 dpi, 300 dpi, and 600 dpi depending on how far away you are. You don't want to spend 4x the gpu power on something that isn't going to look better.
Sounds like a plan Bonebrew... I'll whip one up tommorow. Aajohnny suggested i put in some wireframe shots, what are peoples thoughts on this? I'm not sure if such LP objects (300-600 tris in most cases) need much elbouration?
Good morning, students. And welcome to Archery 101. I will be your professor for the semester, Doctor Hood. Anyway. I've got this idea for a simple, little fantasy scene. Came up with this character for it. Still very rough. Critiques and feedback are more than welcome.
Reading this makes me sad. I don't know what to say. If you love making 3d then continue it, but don't get $60k of student loan debt with unrealistic expectations for employment without a major improvement in your visual perception and art skills.

If you plan to sculpt in mudbox or modo 501 it would be a good idea to UV before sculpting that way if you want to do any texture painting on the high resolution mesh it won't be a problem. UVing a high resolution mesh is generally pretty difficult...
Have you tried copy /B file.000 file.001 file.002...... complete_file_name It could just be that the file was split up and you need to use copy to re-join the pieces. Or try winrar if they are a ACE type archive http://rarsoft.com/
Added an inverse dock corner and tidied up some z-fighthing meshes. Added a mesh surround to the whole piece to stop light leaking in and holes seeing out. Demoed Trim sheet 101 in a 15 minute chunk and played about with different camera angles to present the scene. There's a lot of scope for some very distinct looking…
Most video game industry cities have higher costs of living. It's not going to be fun paying $600 in rent, living with 3 people, working a minimum wage job. You want to live in conditions that will allow you to work on your art and look for jobs. Which might be at your parents house for a few months, working part time.
Inside Unreal you could apply different tiling of 1,1 to the 300x300 one and tiling of 1,2 to the 300x600 one. Or, you could just scale the 600 one twice as tall on the uv map as the 300x300 one. Also, in the first UV channel they can go out from UV space 0-1 since you are using tiling textre.
