If 2048 is rediculous for a dumpster, then what about 1024. I model everything in inches, and consider a 512x512 good for about 8ft x 8ft, so maybe 1024 isn't so bad for this dumpster since we would be talking cubic feet. I think my original 512 was a little too low, and thus looked bad. I may give this another shot soon.
Ive had to do several couple minute-long animation clips before with 10,000 frames or more. I've never really had an issue with this before. Was Mocap animation fed through MotionBuilder. Even in max I've worked with several thousand frames before and its been fine. Just curious...are you talking about bone rigged…
If you want to put together a website to display your art, and don't want to completely recode anything, I would suggest making a deviantart portfolio. It isn't individual, or unique, but it can give you a fast simple portfolio. For example, Grace Liu's portfolio was posted in another thread. As for the criticisms on your…
I don't know how useful this will really be. It sounds like they're only talking about hiding some of the design stuff deeper in the regular edition, and the other way around. If they actually get some people onboard who don't hate the users, this may work. I'm all for a redesign of the interface, I'm just not entirely…
All right an other noob talking here. Tried it out on several model en settings (Max Maya Xnormal. but i didn't get a result even close to yours. This is my result: Maya OS bake Handplane TS results Maya unity So Alec i did send you some files to test with. hope you have time for them. Thanks
You too are a fan of jhonen vasquez...me and you should talk...lol. maybee we should share crits between us. I like your cartoony style. anyway here is a comic I did with models I made of zim and gir. It reads from left to right. maybee they will help in your conquest to model after a great artist such as jhonen. TACOS!!!!!
Looks like a nice read. I'll have to check it out when I get some time. I've been wondering though, since DX9 and Max 7 came out, does anyone actually use Max viewports to see how their models are going to look in-game? That's one of the benefits Discreet talks about, but I don't know that anyone uses it in a production…
Honestly I'm put off by all the hype, people freaking out and ridiculous talk of "orgasms" when they see the supposed next big thing, and that's just me reading some of the posts here, I don't even go to regular gaming sites. I remember someone here posting a while ago that E3 is just a "wankfest for publishers and the…
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...HA...HA... you know i thought about it but i did not try it, i got distracted. just goes to show that just because you have been using a tool a long time does not mean you know it all. and nope, no explanation what i'm talking about. i think you can figure that out... 2 points @atac
I don't know what alpha overdraw is... all I know is that performance is over 38 FPS in the Sandbox 2 editor with a 9800GTX; and performance is worse in the editor than it is in-game. On Very High settings, it stays steadily at 1.2 million tris and 25-30 FPS (still talking about in-editor). It definitely performs better…
