My thoughts? Buy a simple $100 desk and spend the remaining $450 on an Aeron Miller chair or something similar. If you -really- want the USB ports get a cheap USB hub with a cable, that's maybe $25 together.
I'm no character artist but isn't everything ended up being triangulate in the game engine anyway ? Also for the elbow topology if this help https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/25/30/2d/25302db2b7801adaa45473019117e39c.jpg
I'd imagine it's a pretty good way to wow 10-25 year old males (and a few females maybe), if they discover you worked on one of their favourite games, or whatever. "Aw, cool, you made such-and-such game? That's awesome!"
Cool stuff here, loving those expressions Okkun. Nice detail Arsh. Here's a 25-minute zbrushing starting from a zb sphere (hence horrible pinching at top and bottom), waiting for the train after work:
Yeah I make my own chili. Definitely not done in 25 minutes, but it doesn't take long. This way I also know exactly what is in it and I can make it taste exactly how I like it.
vik: I've already got a prototype working at home which supports multiple meshes, and is 25% faster than the current one too :) Just need to do some final refinements and bugfixing then I'll roll it out!
If you have very good stuff then it shouldnt be a problem. The leveling slow/fast seems to be very personal matter for example my char is lvl 16 and my last save shows over 25 hours played.
gfc is the format for compressed files for valve games. similar to quake pk3 if you're familliar with them. GCF requires special tools to browse/edit the packs, one called GCFScape. http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=25
If you guys aren't aware, they're having some pretty awesome sales on Steam now for Thanksgiving. But the most interesting part is the pack deals: http://store.steampowered.com/give/ Right now they have a 6-pack of Left4Dead2 for $25. Which is a damn good price.
Trying to zremesh my model, I've decimated it down to 600k polygons but when I try Zremesh the progress bar gets to about 25% then it freezes for ages and eventually it finishes but the mesh has just dissapeared... I've set it to the same poly count and have adaptive on.
