It's time to practice on another character bust! So, for my 4th portfolio piece, I've decided to inject a bit of style and saturated color. I'll be doing a variation of a night elf from the World of Warcraft universe. Will be posting my work-in-progress shots below as I make headway on her.
Currently working in another personal project. this time a Battle Hammer. (IT'S HAMMER TIME!!) not sure if i'll do a normal map, for a realistic object, or just a handpaint job (something i never did before. could be useful for practice) as i love handpainted textures, like the World of Warcraft ones.
When you start digging for a truly medieval mmo you'll find that quality will be consistantly worse than if you'd just gone for something like world of warcraft, but as yozora mentioned, mount & blade. It might not be an mmo, but you'll definitely get some large scale multiplayer medieval battles out of it.
If anyone ever doubted the effect of the internet on movies the Juggernaut quote just solidifed its position.. I mean how does something like that make its way into a movie? hahaha.. who wants to take bets that in the Warcraft movie blizzard is having made will have a reference to "Leeroy Jenkins" in it?
Hi I am trying to recreate the Red sword of courage from world of warcraft. I have not textured them sword yet and would like to see if anyone can give me some advice that would help me improve the model.
Hey everyone, I'm currently working on the highly-detailed cockpit of an F-15, and I've reached the texturing stage where I need to label all the buttons, switches, and panels (screenshot attached). I'm looking for advice on the most robust and flexible professional workflow: Would it be better to take a UV snapshot into…
Wow,the date on that effect is 14 DEC 2002. We are really old! Oh yeah, I also figured out how special effects worked in Homeworld 1 and wrote an interface enhancement for World of Warcraft. I'm all over the place.
Started the challenge today. I am going for a more realistic version of the scene, rather than sticking with the Warcraft style. At this stage just modelling, not UV'd anything, so lots of errors with the lighting. I am making quite a few changes to things to make it sit into the style I want to go for.
Games Workshop has always sucked as a company, sure they invented War Hammer and everyone says that WarCraft is a copy of War Hammer but it really isnt. Because if you think about it War Hammer copied off Lord of the Rings, I believe Games Workshop even made LOTR minatures as well.....
Its not about if it can be cracked or not. If its not cracked within the first few weeks you have secured many sales. DRM is the wrong way to describe it, I think. And harder to crack DOES reduce piracy. World of warcraft, for example? :P I wouldnt say THAT has 90%+ piracy, right?
