well still at it with a snails pace... but at least i learn a lot while at it... nohting final really i am still improving materials and shaders and trying to learn houdini atm to simplify some of the things i want to do with architecture and stuff. i know it is way to green at the moment xD ... but please tell me what you…
Very nice progress. When I look at it from the initial posts to recent ones, it came a long way. Good job. My question: If the capsule hit the ground recently (you have smoke and bio chemical spill), then the immediate surrounding area around the capsule will have very less vegetation. I think there will be more soil / ash…
@Paradan Actually I didn't intend any sarcasm. Despite two arrows pointing at the hud, because of you calling it artifacts I thought that maybe you mean some shading artifacts with the vegetation. Let me attempt some sarcasm now though. Did you try to search for something with 'HUD' as in g_showHud 0 or you were searching…
Looks very cool. It looks like it is floating pretty high up in the sky, so I would assume it's maybe a little windy up there. That might be a good effect to add and would work nicely with your cloth and vegetation. Also Looks a little dusty in the surroundings, so maybe add some sand piling up in crevices and some dusty…
Cut up the rocks a bit more to give them a cleaner shape. Created a dirt material to use on the terrain in Unity. Added terrain in. Added more trees, and then made some leaves to add around the edge of the rocks. Still need to finish the log along with a few other props and create a mesh with vegetation that covers the top…
Nice, the candles play really well off the soft blue moonlight, just like they do in the game. I especially like the stone pillars. I'd maybe make the small vegetation peeking through the ground look more fragile, thinner and transparent? I remember they look a lot more subtle ingame. Nice work, looking forward to seeing…
Hey, I think overall the materials could be improved. I don't know if you use substance Designer but can definitely recommend it. The scene could also use some story or you could do some thing interesting with vegetation. Here are 2 scenes I like maybe it can inspire you. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/kv3Lz…
you guys are really pushing it. great work. one thing I noticed, is that with the 3.6.x version, the ao is gone in the house comparison. Even though there is great variety in the nature scene, you could go even further by making the vegetation adhere to the ground color. This way you can make lighter and darker patches.…
I would say that you need to add more interesting shape on the trunk : for instance look at the bottom of the tree : The details are barely noticeable . I would not create a little diorama but instead put a lot of vegetation/tree in one place to show how dense the environment look ! You need to do a forest no?! Tweak the…
I kinda get the feeling that the sloping of the terrain is too much, ie the distance from the beach to the top of a mountain is very steep. I might make trees etc look very odd in the future when you start adding vegetation to it, I'd make sure you spend more time making sure the proportions are right as well. Quickie…
