Sectaurs is the newest member of Iron Lore Entertainment! Ian will be working on weapons for us and Blankslaitjoe (formerly our weapon guy) will be moving into an armor and npc slot. Hes actually been here for a couple weeks now and has really hit the ground running. He's turning out some great weapons. Congrats once…
My name is Jeremy Williams. I am looking for somebody to model humanoid NPCs and creatures for a fantasy RPG. We have several other modelers, one of which is competant with creatures, but none of which are good at humanoids. We need somebody to fill the gap. Payment is a share of sales. Contact me at avm0121@hotmail.com if…
Working on Wesley, a journeying foxen tracker NPC that has momentarily joined our group to guide us through the Elderwood. We'll take him to the mages guild in Emerald Keep to relieve him of a curse that turns his hands to those of a skeleton...if we manage to escape the woods alive.
I cannot think of the last game that had a fat main character, especially if you are not counting games with "tank" roles. Witcher 2 and 3 might be the only games I can think of with good npc body type variety and it handles weight realistically, even with the background characters.
Working out, or any activty is a good start. Depression can make this extra hard but the good news is that being active will help with any depression you are experiancing. Sounds like your in a bad sprial Downsizer (even your nic is a bummer ) hope you find your way.
bounch: http://pages.tvunetworks.com/channels/# Go to channel 72276 and you can stream the superbowl. It's what I'm doing since it's not on TV and I couldn't' find any bars that show it here. EDIT: actually that one's canadian TV I think, so go to 68361 for the NBC stream.
When I moved to the UK I got myself a small-ish media center case which I could take as hand luggage. Not as powerful as a full workstation but better than a laptop. Of course there's downsides to expandability. E.g. no 2nd NIC, no dedicated soundcard, limited # of USB ports, and so on.
I'm kind of confused about how the SDK works, we cant make new helmets and stuff to wear? or weapons? but if we make a new map we can populate it with NPCs that wear custom props? Still awesome though! Can't wait to see what people come up with.
@njc: Thanks. The emissive map was a lot of fun to work on! Got the tri-count down to about 8,500 and put it into UDK. Might rig it and animate later on, but as far as the modeling and texturing is concerned I think I'm about ready to call it done, unless anyone has any final thoughts on it?
Different people here will have different opinions about this. If he is a main character, I would budget at least a month from concept to having a game ready skinned rigged character with a few props and ready for animation. For enemies and NPC's I would allow 1 to 2 weeks minimum.
