Bobo: That looks freaking brilliant. I was feeling a bit down in the dumps about the poor crop of fantasy styles on show this year, now I'm the happiest I've been all year :) Fantastic to see this kind of visual fidelity and love being poured into a fresh style of fantasy.
I'm sculpting an Orc inspired by the dark fantasy series by Bjorn Hurri. It's a blast and fulfilling to be creating some fantasy-inspired work. I'll be polishing it more and continuing to post my work-in-progress to my sketchbook here: https://polycount.com/discussion/206688/sketchbook-vincent-khornebread-barksdale#latest…
It's a mix of fantastical sci-fi and fantasy which to me is the best kind, as it blends the technology which makes sci-fi so exciting, but taken to visual and material extremes, and the fantasy mood which speaks to the soul. Star Wars isn't very far off really. Technology mixed with mysticism.
We are looking mainly now for one more concept artist (with a focus on nature, oriental elements and fantasy), one more 3d character modeller, one more animator (with a focus on fighting) and one 3d environment artist (create vegetation, small objects and fantasy architecture). Some work in progress:
[ QUOTE ] Piranha Bytes, saw their project. REALLY not want to sound too picky or arogant but doing sequel after sequel of an Fantasy RPG dioesnt attract me too much. [/ QUOTE ] But hey, it is the best Fantasy RPG series ever made Hmmm otherwise... Massive was closed recently right?
Xwing and TIE fighter Valkyrie Profile 1-2 Odin Sphere Jagged Alliance 1 and Deadly Games Faxanadu Freespace 1-2 Final Fantasy 6 (I would not be an artist or writer without playing these) AD&D Gold Box games PC games Final Fantasy 1 and 4
Jack, My original intention was on making this character to be new-aged Charon, so him having Stevedore's hook would've been an awesome idea. Ya, i'll go in the fantasy direction, sticking with the fantasy approach. Hopefully I'll be able to describe in which direction i'm going based on my WIPS :)
Yes yes yes! one of my favorite models from the fantasy universe. Also absolutely hate playing vs them. @IchII3D Warhammer fantasy in this case, not 40k, however you will see something very similar to this in the form of daemons riding them in 40k, not sure if the chaos space marines do or not.
My friend will probably pick it up, since he's a huge fan of Final Fantasy. The only reason i got for checking it out is the technique that is used. I'm not really interested in the story, as most Final Fantasy stories bore me to sleep at about half-way. I agree that they've become very clich
Tried to incorporate some fantasy archetypes on some different animals. I got this idea when someone said there was too many orcs, dwarves, elves and the "stereotypical" fantasy races, so I gots to thinking what critters might make a good character class.. Good Lord... I'm drawing furries now..
