No, you can import rectangular textures too but you need the resolutions to be powers of 2. Like 64, 128, 512 etc. -

maybe this could work: in photoshop: go to edit the blue level and set it to 128, essentially nullifying it. Again, not sure if this works, but maybe. -

Tripod Low-poly
Just a tripod thing I made a while ago. Wanted to post it in low-poly thread first, but it's not low-poly enough I think. Plus the texture is 1024x1024. made in Blender btw. 1226 polies. -
