I came from Modo as well. I am not sure what issue you are having exactly. Middle mouse works fine for me on a pen. I use the industry standard keymap (which you have to select from the properties or splash screen), and then Alt + pen tip for left click, alt + side pen button for middle and right clicks. No issues at all…
Automirror does what I wish the modifier did non-destructively: slices/bisects geometry at the mirror line, so you don't get overlapping geometry. If it isn't already included in the default plugins, I think you'll find it here: https://github.com/lapineige/Blender_add-ons/tree/master/AutoMirror Have you looked into Asset…
@yadoob Can't speak for mmaaxx but I bought it as well and I think it is great. Only real complaint is that sometimes when I use asset to selection in face mode, my mesh disappears and in rare cases when placing a bunch of inserts, sometimes some of them will be upside down. I am not entirely sure how useful it is for game…
Oh totally yeah - they are basically victim of themselves "trying too hard" in the past, attempting to hotkey everything ... under the assumption that power users might want that. It's all quite ironic in a way. And then many add-on creators unfortunately jumped on that hotkey train too by assigning keys to their addons.…
@pior Thank you for the informative answers :) I'm really learning a lot from your inputs, you being the Blender user with more experience in knowing how all the systems relate with each other. For the pivot thing, I was just looking for a Pivot-To-Bottom solution because it's something I do pretty frequently in my work.…
Wow, Ubisoft too. It really feels like we're on the brink of a big new change. I've been putting more time into Blender myself and I'm glad to say I'm really liking it so far. Blender feels responsive, easily customizable and stupidly fast. The shortcut editor is probably my favorite comparing it to Max' and Maya's, since…
Being realistic seems to be based, in this case, on the subjective. One persons "realistic" might not be the "realistic" others see. Whether you think proper support for multiple normals is going to happen or not is kind of moot, since its up to the core developers. Given the latest proposal for 2.7 and onward, as well as…
I actually really like Blender's controls when using a decent 3-button mouse, but then again I switched permanently from Maya about 6 months ago (when 2.63 came out) so I've had plenty of to get used to them (and Maya's whole interface was clunky to begin with; holding alt for everything, going through menus and clicking…
@Blaizer I'm a little confused. I just tested this on my build—also GTX 1060, but paired with a i5 6600. It should perform worse than yours. Here's what I see on 2.83. You said this version was particularly bad at this but it's not an alpha, so should be preferred for tests. While I got a slight performance drop imo it's…
Oh yeah I see that happening, the problem is I don't really know what I'm doing :D I'll have a go later, I'm keen to get the keyframe moving working first. I want MMB to either drag the keyframe on the start frame or if there is no keyframe copy the pose anway. Did you mention wanting a context sensitive delete before? I…
