Thanks for the post but that isn't exactly what I need to do. I don't know if the way I explained it was weird, but I have 25 sub tools in my scene of various junk and rubble. I want to make a tileable texture using the draw mode in a Document and dragging individual ztools into place. I don't think it will let you use… -

Couldn't you just model the whole shape of the hair as one single polygon object (or multiples for different layers), with edgeloops heading in the direction you want the hair to flow, then once you have the hair mass and layers close to how you like it, use the edge ring selection tool to select strips you want, convert… -

I used to think that to make concept art you HAD to draw out what you were considering but that is really not the case. Shift+drag the tool onto the document to keep the orientation constrained to an axis. However, I think you're not fully understanding how a Zbrush document works. It's not the same as a normal 3d scene. The orientation of the model in the document window doesn't matter. Try drawing out a symmetrical model at a skewed angle… -
