Easily until I hit the receiver piece, and then much more slowly :) edit: actually that looks like it would be crazy fun to model. Once you solve the tricky bit it all looks pretty easy, unless you want to model that embossed detail in.
I'd just like to ask, is there anything wrong with having triangles and N-gons on the high? I know it can create smoothing errors with turbo-smooth, but will it affect the final bake? Some meshes I have tried It's difficult to have zilch tris and N's.
Hi, Having trouble with the topology for this one. How would you guys do it to have a nice smooth intersection between the cube and cylinder? I would also like to have thin rounded corners. Creasing the edges and smoothing in Maya resulted in pinched corners =/.
Hey guys, I was hoping someone could help me out with a shape like this. I'm having a really hard time finding where to put edge loops on this? Particularly, that corner near the base of the object where the 3 sides come together. Thanks
I just wanted to learn how to form shapes together using Boolean. Recently I've seen all sorts on here like scoops etc made extremely quickly. I've always avoided using Booleans and didn't realise they could be so handy.
Hi everyone! I was wondering if some good soul could lift my weeks of suffering on the simplest problem I ever encountered. So I'm trying to model a spaceship that was drawn by spacegoose. This is the one in question: The issue I run into is that when I try to make the front of the spaceship, I keep getting non-planar…
Thank you for this model ;-) tried some retopo myself.. have to triangles in (on half of the object.. resized and rotated it to my liking ~ 644 polys for a full object.. 802 was yours ).. Your big button on the back seems to have to need some more love.. it's disrupting the flow a bit too much. The general form does change…
respawnrt Do you use Max as primary app? I think your way is somehow overkill, maybe in 1st glance, you come up with that, but definitely not prefered method in this certain object. But I'd like to see another take from you or anyone else.
What do you mean engravings? Like letters? If that's your question, I'd say you can use floating geometry on there. Either that, or do it in PS, run it trhough xnormal PS plugin (or nvidia nm filter) and put it on top of your baked result as an overlay.
You could unwrap the Object which is in the form you want and then use a Script like UVW2XYZ , copy the outcome, revert back. Then you have one flat one and the desired form. Method 2: Start with a flat shape, copy it and bend it the way you want it.
