Always toyed with VFX and ArchViz, rendering out scenes from IKEA catalogs and stuff. Or things like this: http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/305/9/4/castle_making_of_by_frell262-d31zeim.gif Which I did when I was 14. Eventually I wanted to be a part of something more interactive so I switched to games
The "I'd never want to work there" comments are odd: a fairly big independent studio that can survive losing a publisher and project cancellation without laying off anyone? A studio that set aside 14 days for the employees to form mini teams and come up with new games to boost morale? Yeah, sounds like a horrible place.
still very wip. but the script i posted here http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1820907&postcount=14 should take a vertex selection and try to make a circle out of it. still very wip, and currently it wont even out the vertex spacing, but if you run it on something that already has good spaceing, it works great.
There was a video done at Ubisoft where they showed off the tools they used for the new Rayman game, which are pretty awesome. And at around 14:30, they explain how they used 3D for some bosses and how they made it look 2D: [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-chi097uV4"]How Rayman Legends Is Made! - YouTube[/ame]
Hey dude, One thing I noticed is that her face feels very young (14-15 maybe), I originally thought she was one of those old timey girls from the dust bowl, then I saw the tattoo and your notes and realized that she was older. If that was intentional then never mind, just wanted to point it out :)
For me it was BMX Number Jump. We got a C64 one xmas. I'm sure we went without heating that winter to pay for it.......but man was it worth it to see that 20 pixel black sprite move jerkily across our 14" B&W telly every time we typed in the answer to the next exciting 'mathematical puzzle'.
From my experience, 16 latest sp is rock solid and what I still use. 17 latest release is in dire need of the next sp. I'm currently a beta-tester so can't say more than that. 15 I skipped completely as I jumped from 14 to 16 so have no direct experience.
