Damn. I remember avidly drooling over ACantarel's helicopter WIP threads when I was starting my CG journey in the mid 2000's. Those WIP forums contained some real gold. I think they, and the 3d gallery, motivated and inspired me to follow this path. There's no denying that the forums went downhill in their latter years…
What a shame! Also it goes without saying that they've now alienated a portion if not all those new adherents too the 40k universe solely on the strength of Syama Pedersen's inspired effort which initially led to GW hiring him in the first place.
@Gazu Yeah, I haven't uploaded it to artstation yet, want to try some things. As I said, sight for this gun was heavily inspired by Ryzin so I wanted to give them a credit :) I will upload some update and close-shots later :)
Take a look at Call of Duty Black Ops. If I remember correctly there are quite a few russian base type environments just like this. Might give you some ideas/inspiration. I really like what you have so far.
Started putting the assets in unreal with a basic lighting setup, very inspired by some mass effect references. Still have to texture and detail the room (floor, roof, walls) and add some more detail to the props. @Linkiel Loving that scene so far!
Hey, Thanks for replying yet once again. I did some work on bouncing balls and weight shifting. I have come up with the following example of a yawning being. (Inspiration from Joe Daniels) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fli1RmRQVwE
Thank you, SupRore. I really hope some day to reach the level of these guys. I'm a loong time fan of b1ll, he's a great inspiration to me. I think the best way to get there is keep practicing, so, here are some updates.
hahaha, Pandora is also the name of my cat that i used as a reference for the yellow eyes =] must be a sign =] and i was with the art of how to train your dragon book open at my side when i was working at zbrush, i got a lot inspired by it
Not a waste at all. Your Mad Max car and AKM are my favourite pieces, I would work on your presentation and make sure that you properly texture your models going forward. Just take a look on Artstation for thousands of pieces of inspiration.
look at the movie 7 I think there is some massive inspiration there especially with the photo's and the red light from the dark room could be pretty sick looking. Also use Higher res images I want to be able to see your sene clearly.
