Amazed how well its running on my ancient (and dying fast) laptop, can run everything on high! Great job Sledgehammer and IW. Its very fun so far too, bout an hour in I guess. If you are interested in the SP stay off Kotaku, they are spoiling everything the pricks.
hahahaha. KP!!! it's me. beebop rocksteady from conceptart!!! remember the guest self-portrait section??? anyways, how you been? all models are new. the last concept is new. but yes, the other concepts are ancient indeed. i thought i'd pull them out of the box to do some modeling.
Maarten Andreas Lewis Edgar. The middle names where donated by my granddads, and apparently 'edgar' means 'invincible spear' in ancient germanic; which is unfortunate as some incredibly gay guy told me this whilst a couple of my friends where around...you can imagine the connotations ever since.
Look at those nice, ceramic tiles on an "ancient ruins" scene. I guess the decorators that came to update the look of the place never got past the roofs before they ran out of funding, eh? :/ Seriously, those nice looking roof shingles pretty much throw the entire scene off for me.
@alytlebird oh very good points! you have got me thinking now :) I think it would be really cool to take it in a direction that it is an "ancient"/ relic that was used to kill a very powerful demon but in the final moments the weapon was broken and part of the demon fell onto the rifle and grew into what it is now
Wow, I didn't know Unreal is doing so . Always thought it's a huge omission there. Thanks poopipe 20 years ago we even called it same "Hierarchical LODs" In every next company I worked for people just shrugged so I thought it's kind of ancient forgotten technique.
Now for an Enemy! This would be a Vanguard type of enemy, protecting an area in my Head Known as "The Scuttling Grave" A vast, mobile Graveyard on the back off an ancient Millipede. This one is much closer to actual "Game Concept Art" which ironically I went to college for. Its all Circular I guess!

Interesting thread. [ QUOTE ] ...But if your conscious self continues on and you happen to meet this Ancient and eternal being, then what? I truly do not know, but better safe than sorry. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like Pascal's Wager. That article actually includes several logical rebuttals that might be worth a quick read.
Any buildings in Conan are usually very simple, with very simple shapes. His world is a fictional version of our own very early ancient history. Somewhere between the steel and iron ages. Crom is worshiped by the Cimmerian barbarians from the cold north. Any temple to him wouldn't be very elaborate.
