working on a sci-fi map right now for udk making a few texture sheets that i can use to flat map the whole map. the lows texture/material is still work in progress and will get a better once over as i finish more texture sheets and get the colors down.
yeah it does look like it could use a bit more fattening. I had initially made it sort of beveled around which did add some to the thickness of it but i changed it later on to be flat, but maybe having it a bit thicker wouldnt be such a bad thing. ill try it out. :D thanks
@Ahtiandr, I like the look of the fur on the fox although it does look a little flat. I think maknig the fur stand up a bit more will add some volume to it and it will give a nicer silhoutte to the character. It will also make his shoulders look broader giving him a feeling of strength/power.
I've had issues around filling subtools as well. Did you try filling with the "flat" matcap? That one in particular is supposed to make the tool essentially unfilled and free to have any material applied. Let me know if you figure it out. I have the same problem with the RGB fill. Looking cool btw.
Glad I could help! :) I actually have another image of the floor texture. I made 3 textures that tile with each other so they can be used together to avoid that annoying tiling effect.... I also made some geometry tiles to go with it to break up the floor flatness a little for lower view port angles.
this looks like you have little polygons with a certain material applied - rather than filling a white color, try filling with the "Flat Color" material. This is the base material in Zbrush and will remove any material assignments to any polygons you may have accidentally added (usually this is caused by using something…
ALL done in maya? How did you model the rocks? o_O Here's some sorta old-school worn sci-fi doorpanel I'm working on. What kinda sucks is that as soon as I turn on the emissive map, the keypad looks all flat. Any advise on how to create a nice illuminatede keypad and don't lose all the normalmap detail?
Generally you shouldn't ask flat out if someone will do that. Usually is someone finds your WIP interesting enough and they want to see more, they will take their time and do a quick paintover for some help. In this case, there really isn't much to go on. Maybe try fleshing out the scene a little more to give people an…
Torch, pretty good so far, and definitely obvious who it is. The big differences I can see would be around his nose. The bridge between his eye's should be more flat, and wider/flatter at the tip, with a bit more space between the upper lip. This pic covers it pretty well. And I'm not positive, but his neck feels a tiny…
Awesome! It look like you've used the Brush>Curve>WrapMode mode fuction, but how did you get the edges so clean? Whenever I try using wrapmode every brush seems to work fine apart from the smoothing brush, it does work with the wrapping but it won't smooth out the edges at all. So the middle will be flat and the edges will…
