Does anyone know a way how to export duplivert objects without the parent mesh? Even better combining them into one mesh. Of course "make real" works, but to use that you need to apply all modifiers on the child object first, which is a bit annoying.
The problem in your case is, that you did not duplicate the material, but simply the nodes in the material. The easiest way to assign a copy of a material to another object is this: - assign the material you want to copy to the object, that you want to assign the copy to - click on the number button to the right of the…
It's possible to code a simple add-on to "refresh" the data of objects in your scene from external files whose paths you specify as custom properties inside each object, so that these objects can be appended to the scene rather than linked, and you don't run into this limitation. The only difference with the built-in…
For this one specifically, watch where you place the mouse *before* initialising certain tools; the speed and distance the resulting edit travels increases a great deal the closer you are to the object - in other words makes sure the mouse is some distance from the object before pressing 'go'.
Natively, that would be by either placing the 3D cursor the way you want the pivot to be, and Object>Set Origin>3D cursor. Or merging with a proxy object with the desired transform. But there is an addon dedicated to that too. Could do with some improvements but the functionality is sound.…
Anyone know how to add a second UVmap (lightmap) to all selected objects at once in 2.8? Ctrl+L tranfer UVs only work if its the same geometry... I'm currently selecting everything and adding a new UV, but it only adds to the last selected object. (shame on blender)
