Ok I gotta ask cause this is bothering me, is there no way to repeat select a pattern of edge loops? I thought you used 'select next active' (cntrl shift +) but for some reason it doesn't select the whole edge loop.
I see what you mean now Prime8. I never noticed that before. Its kinda strnge though sometimes sharp edges don't show up with I apply the modifier and sometimes all edges are marked sharp.
It is not the same fuction of hardedges, well, it is not ONLY that. Here looks like you have marked all the edges as hard-edges, than you assign the "face" option to all the faces, but this is meanless, once you setted the hard edges the vertex normals works correctly by default. the face option is intend to be used to…
@f1r3w4rr10r Yeah, i was thinking the same, using the edge shader on annoying smooth surfaces in conjunction with a regular workflow is probably best. But you can't split the edges/shading without having a uv seam, you will get artifcats when baking it.
Hello guys. Just a quick question. Do you know how to align a selected UV edge along X or Y while also aligning the entire UV island with it? It's similar to the Align to Edge tool in 3ds Max UV Editor.
@Justo Had a similar problem once, i could not save new settings. So i ended up deleting every blender folder on my pc and it worked. About the transform topic, just discovered today that you can snap the cursor to edges too, so if you change the snapping settings to edge + align rotation it will align the 3d cursor with…
Could someone tell me if this is possible in Blender? https://youtu.be/BGhIQJYe_ew?t=25 He applies more geometry to the shape which interpolates the curves but doesn't affect the edges. I tried doing something similar in Blender but no joy, I applied an edge-split modifier and then a subd modifier underneath, however it…
If I am doing this correctly, this means you just mark the edges you want to be sharp, then ticking the box include normals on export will make it appear properly in engine. I quickly tested it on a cube going to Unity, and it seems to have worked. If there is a better/easier way than this, please let me know. Also, is…
