Just messin' around with making trees of metal..painted stylized...hopefully its noticable Im not trying to go anything near realistic. Im planning on adding leaves and a bush...then go from there...not sure yet.

[ QUOTE ] Keen, How'd you get the black outline on everything? The alley looks awesome! [/ QUOTE ] This can be done with an ink and paint shader in max, like cell shading but with realistic textures. That's what I think anyway.
I am using an AO map. I got a bit rough by some reason so it looks a bit hand painted. I might smooth it out here and there. Got some hand painted shadowy stuff as well in the skin and such, but about 90% of the shading is done by the AO map. Thanks for the replys everyone. I'll see what I can do about the dirt. I'll also…
use photos as base materials ( adsting levels and cleaning first) then paint over the top. deffinatly dont use filters. and for reference, use pictures of real swords only look at games when you want to steal their techniques
That are some insane concepts! It looks like they are a crapload of work, atleast they would for me even if could paint that good! :D You also made simple 3d bases for them, right? Would be cool to see them too.
I was bored so I decided to do some 2d stuff. I haven't painted anything for about 10 years, so I am happyish with the progress, but long way to go still. leaves are bit crap
ex-gf is wanting to pick up some wip painting stuff she was working on.. that she left at my place. I was all pumped up for the dom war today i decided to spill some blood early.
Trying to tame Zbrush's texturing tools on what is supposed to be a Psylocke bust, but got frustrated with the interface. Is there some way I don't have to select two colors just to start painting? And is there something like an eyedropper tool? AAGGGHHHH
