@renderhjs Loving the addon so far! Awesome work. Wondering how I can increase the AO Bake Intensity? Or the AO spread distance? I don't normally bake anything in blender but might incorporate it into my workflow :) Would also be nice if bake still worked if you 'view local' the lowpoly
Oh, why hast thou forsaken us poor Max users......?? :) I'm another long-time Max user who's been dipping my toes more and more into Blender. What a wonderful program it is. I also used TexTools in Max for years. You've done a fantastic job on this. Great presentation. Lovely UI and icons. Solid features. I definitely have…
This is amazing, I am working on my first project in Blender and wasn't very impressed with the UV tools, I cannot believe after coming back to Polycount after so long away that I find this straight off the bat. You are awesome and though I haven't used TexTools in Blender yet I know it will rock. Thanks for this.
@renderhjs the new peel tool looks awesome. man, you're killing it i mean, blenders uv tools aren't terrible, you get the job done after some fiddling around, but its just getting better and better from here on out. the peel tool will save tons of time. no more fiddling with non quad geometrys
@renderhjs Great that people like you start using Blender, it's amazing how much it's developed over the last couple of years and to see great addons being made. I remember vividly back in 2011, there were no ngons, no UV stitching, no custom vertex normals etc. There's still a few things that could be improved, but…
Figured it out pretty quickly: Actually funny to me. It's the cage object that casts shadows on everything else. If you hide the cage in the bake process it's fine. Will work on a fix this was easy to find. Must have missed this when I switched to Blender Render for AO bakes. Edit: Turns out that Blender Render does not…
just dive in blender and it will have a final release of v2.8 on I think was in October 2018, Imo as for baking I wouldn't recommend blender for baking purpose I'd rather choose xNormal for that even in hardsurface baking in blender has a subtle gradient on it. @re@renderhjs are you going to update your TexTools now for…
Well Blender is getting more recognition these days especially when you look at the features and it's free. Some companies are alreadly making shifts especially in small archviz studios. Having said that, I still love 3dsmax. Is still a heavy house software and it's holds up especially in a lot of architectujral companies…
Hi @renderhjs, I'm absolutely loving TexTools but I'm having some problems baking my normals/ao. I've got this model split into multiple objects and no matter how I try to bake it (all at once or individual) Blender always crashes if I go above 512x512. I wanted to bake it at 4K so it kind of throws a wrench into the whole…
If there aren't any hard edges the algorithm probably doesn't find anything that needs to be bevelled would be my guess. I haven't used the feature but from my understanding it just bases the bevel upon hard harsh intersections in the normals so if they're all smooth there should theoretically not be anything to bevel…
