I'll add this to the suggestion list but I'm not sure what can be done there. I've talked to the guys a bit about this and the shadow resolution is already extremely high. We will probably need to do something other than increase the shadow resolution to solve this. I'll add these to the list as well. Edit: Actually, I…
This would likely have the same problems that the refraction shader is going to have, the problem is a shader like this that needs to distort/alter content after the whole frame is drawn, which means it is very difficult/impossible to render these effects as overlapping elements. This is my understanding of it anyway, I…
I am sorry but Toolbag 1 is no longer in active development, as such we have no plans to offer it for sale. Current Toolbag 1 licences will continue to function, however maintenance will be very minimal (only fixing major bug fixes relating to crashing etc). Toolbag 2 is, in our opinion at least, a massively improved…
Sorry no ETA yet. We realize this is a priority for you guys so it will be added at some point, likely sooner rather than later. Layering is not currently supported. Layering with masks to blend between different materials is something we will most likely in future update. You certainly can have multiple surface types with…
I cant really tell you specifically how Yosuke set up his hair there, but you might want to check out his youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/maya3dcg Lee and I did a character setup livestream recently, we talked a bit about hair around the 57 minute mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAyx-C3O1Hc Thanks for…
Yeah we may be interested in this as well. Put your mask in the alpha of your diffuse, then set the transparency module to dithered or cutout. Dithered is for soft blending, so it should be perfect for hair. It may be a bit noisy in the viewport but will look better with exported images. Cutout is basic alphatesting. Also…
The aperture shape needs to be in the RGB channels and also the Alpha channel. Try that and let me know if it works. You can use the invert tick in the gloss box to invert (so you don't have to invert the actual content). This will give you results closer to to the black = glossy, white = rough scale that they use.…
There is a camera drop-down in the top left corner of the viewport where you can select the active camera. Be sure to give the getting started guide a read as it goes over a bunch of the basic stuff like this: http://www.marmoset.co/toolbag/learn/getting-started So, no, not currently. We plan on adding some sort of safe…
Interesting, does the machine youre having issues with have very low vram by any chance? I cant get this to reproduce with the 8k (jpeg file was the only 8k in that archive) or the 3K hdr. Now the clicking issue, when frame rate drops the UI becomes unresponsive (this is a known issue), are you sure this has something to…
Both of these are known bugs that we just havent had the time to fix, thanks for documenting them though! No problem. I see what you mean, the Modo/Lightwave style camera roll/trackball thing. Here I thought I was the only person that liked this. If there is enough interest well look into adding this back it. Right,…
