Time for an older piece, I played a lot of WoW and I'm a big Blizzard fan. I should probably do some more since this is one of the few warcraft fanart paintings I have done.
http://kotaku.com/photogallery/halommoconcepts/ No offense to anyone who were involved with it... but that is NOT Halo. Unless it's a futuristic StarWars/Japanese influenced alternate reality to the Halo universe.. or SciFi World of Warcraft with Halo elements thrown on top..
What's really funny to me is that if you use World of Warcraft and Cool'n'Quiet together, WoW detects a new system config every time you start it and asks you if you want to reconfigure your graphics.
D and E are my absolute favorites! H reminds me a bit of a Warcraft character but the glow (white) looks amazing. Maybe try that on another color too? Like making the corner of hoodie and inner armor brighter than rest so it looks glowing/radiant
@Demonith I'm sorry but I have no time, and I'm not a pro. @njc6425 Thank you very much Under the impression of World of Warcraft Cataclysm Deathwing Two-Hand Sword: And version with 256x256 texture: http://s019.radikal.ru/i624/1203/fb/f3101b5328f2.jpg
Thanks guys. @lotet, yeah I'm going for a more Warcraft Movie style, but I'll be sure to revisit the face and work into it further :) In the meantime I've Retopo'd, UV'd and started painting this guy, still loads of painting and some FX to do. A twist on a concept by Carlos Ruiz.

Been working on some speedpaintings and a few quick characters the last couple of days Earlier this month I've been doing some characters for one my mods for Warcraft 3. the mod can be found here http://www.moddb.com/mods/advance-wars-steampunk-rising
^ Hah, yes, the "idea" guys are usually the best. Even though it's mostly 17 yr old's operating from their parent's basement, they've sure as hell put a lot of thought into kicking World of Warcraft (insert other popular game here) off the top spot!
also wouldn't how close the camera can get to the action play a factor in the texture size? Vassago's recommendations sound about right. about 512 if you're going warhammer style, maybe 128 if you're doing something similar to total annilhation or warcraft 3
