Yup as you said some sharp edges there which likely wont play too nice with the bake and lighting later on, and its at such an early stage not much to say. The one thing I can say is that you need to be careful of that pinching on the front/bottom there.
@BARDLER The highpoly has pinches as well unfortunately D: The cylinderical objects in the back are prebaked because Max was giving memory errors when baking that many polys. As for the baking process, everything was put together just like the highpoly to get an accurate AOS.
Jakro i tried to pinch verts that fixed somehow those shading, is it really a bad topology? i modeled a test object, same topology this time it renders good. I am in trouble i have to fix model again unwrap again
if you read inbetween the quotes i think you can see a fair amount of positive stuff about most of the companys interesting read but yeah needs to be read with a pinch of salt, some sugar douhnuts, a dumpling stew and half a bag of chips
Regarding 3., the lips are reading too flat because the sides of the mouth aren't "pinching" into the sides and slightly conforming to the contours of the teeth. There needs to be a bit of a divot there. Definitely one of my early mistakes when I was leaning how to sculpt faces as well.
Damn, those last shots (with the tower etc.) are impressive Kevin, those shapes always give me the worst headaches since there is always one or 2 pieces that pinch ever so slightly... makes me cry at night. Inspirational work as usual!
looks great! love the folds on the shirt! the head looks a bit weird though in the side view: the nose seems to pointy and long and the chin is really pinched to a small point too. oh and he doesn't have a bottom lip. looking forward to updates!
Welp I'm calling this done. This was a challenging piece for something that looked simple. Thank you earthquake and perna for your help, and I did restructure the front dome part of the scope and pinching went away. OBJ File http://www.sendspace.com/file/jkx0me
good progress so far, but I think it's better to make a very tight and pinched folds on thigns, or not make them at all - ruins the surface, looks unpretty, like an old woman skin.
Thanks mate! Most of the time I use orb_cracks and some pinch when it comes to cracks/scratches check Orb's thread: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1387929&postcount=114
