No idea what this guy is getting at, maybe he got the wrong idea about eye trauma? I know the risk of eye strain is increased with higher refresh rates and 3D tv is supposedly capped at 4 hours a day for "reason's" but I've never heard of retinal detachment being caused by computer use.
