Trying to get better with hair. I'm going to rebake the textures so they're a little more curly and rugged, his beard is to smooth. At the moment there are around 500 hair planes, not sure if that's to many. but I can't get it to look good without that many any tips? -

Yeah i know that the tricount on the terrain isnt really a big problem. I dont have performance issues or anything especially since i have a brand new rig (made a scene with 2 million visible tris and still had 50fps) Only problem is the tricount restriction that comes with Unearthly Challenge. I work on iphone games, not for gameloft but we have our own engine and I have to say if you want to be realistic you need to have a maximum of about 8 512x512 textures in any one scene. This is a rule of thumb but Id say its pretty close to what most games would use unless they are streaming in textures on the fly or… -
