tinman - Yeah I was torn on the value thing. Old buildings such as this do tend to have similar values all around but.. Seeing as this is a stylistic texture job and not realisic, it maybe could have done well with more values as you said. Thanks for the crit! poop, Thanks man. I would have posted at CGChat first tho if…
it was probably vague because there is just too much to say, there are alot of medium sized forms and details that are missing for example check this gorilla sculpt out http://cghub.com/files/Image/3851/image.jpg I would assume that if you just go away and look at some of that reference you listed - gorilla spider frog…
I'd love to join too, but: -I have a pressing job to finish first -I'm not sure if I'm good enough of a concept artist to come up with a sufficient design but mostly: -3D doesn't seem to win a lot, previous contest was all 2D that took prizes and follow-ups. As has been the trend at CGsociety for years now, just look at…
[ QUOTE ] wow, angelina jolie! [/ QUOTE ] Have a look on CGTalk, alost every second model is based on her But it is looking good so far... interesting to see the changes you made to make it look like an ork... but maybe you still have to go further, to make her look less human (but this will probably destroy the 'cute'…
hey man- I would love to work on a bit of 3d or texture work for you, (an old-school isometric rpg would be an awesome break from 1st and 3rd person shooters:poly114b:)) I can make a few models for you if you want to get a grasp of what my abilities are. I am currently a student, but still have a good amount of free time…
If I remember correctly, there were a couple of detailed nurbs car modeling tuts on cgtalk. That might help you. I muss profess to being a bit of a spaz when it comes to nurbs. They have their uses, but its all a bit too technical for my liking.
Smoke and Fire? Just saw this the other day for Blender 2.5, haven't done it myself though so I can't say how easy it is. http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/blender/introduction-to-smoke-simulation-in-blender-2-5-day-1/ http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/blender/introduction-to-smoke-simulation-in-blender-2-5-day-2/…
We've gone the way of the cgfx shader similar to Brices, blend 3 textures based on vert colour. You can also use a layer texture to blend using masks, but this means your uv's on the terrain have to be maintained.
Thanks everyone for your replies! Right now its a high-res model, I've thought about resurfacing and making a game character out of him, but at the same time I have so many different creatures/characters I want to make, and I've grown pretty tired of this guy. It was hard to find the dedication just to get him to this…
