When you know what you're doing, a basemesh is a great time saver for sure. But for learning puposes I wouldn't start from someone else basemesh to be honest. If she likes to travel then i'm sure she might have a favorite country to go to or place. Maybe you can get something cultural or alike that's from or related to that place or country. Something she might like (don't know here so aint going over "might") and that you care enough to listen to her interests. My 2 cents.
She looks like she's going to be stylized so I don't know if this applies, but her body-type looks like an extremely 'apple'-ish and she has popeye arms. Those two things struck me as odd. Maybe too extreme? Just my 2 cents, so take it or leave it. :) Changes to the face look really good!
This looks really great! I think this guy could go without pants and have some fur like you have around his neck covering up his business down there. Design wise I'd see how far you can go with the chain and shackle theme. Maybe leg shackles with more chains connecting. My 2 cents. :)
This is looking pretty good so far...something about the belly and belly button bothers me. I think it's too accentuated and flat and should be more round and subtle IMO. Given her proportions and style, I would expect her belly to be a tad rounder whereas right now it feels pretty flat and tone. Just my 10 cents!
Thanks for the mention :) but to add my two cents. I think procedural modeling is the future for both games and VFX especially when it comes to organics or nature. If I can create different kinds of rocks in seconds with a template made in Houdini I an use those in zbrush or just stick with Houdini who knows. I think soon…
Wow, very impressive work also considering that its only 3 people in total. This is quite promising and already looking better than most big indie and even some triple A titles. I specially loved the music and animations. I just wish the main character had more attacks and not rely on the automatic guns so much. My 2 cents.
Pretty cool model, your have some nice high frequency detail which I think it really helping your model to stand out, however your legs are a little curious to me....they're sticking really far out in the back and looks like they would not be able to support the mechs heavy top. I dunno, just my 2 cents.
I think the elements from Thor are a tad too obvious, so it looks more like Thor with Jayce's hammer than a new look for Jayce. There's already Thunder Lord Ornn, which is way more sweet looking than Thor, if you ask me ;] Just my two cents, though. Keep in mind I'm no big fan of Thor.
Hmmm I personally feel that this sword is a little too generic. The blade shape is pretty boring (literally straightforward) and the details near the handle won't be really visible ingame. Also I think it's too dark, for the sake of readability you might try using some of that blue glow the default blade uses to create…
