Can someone shed some light on how to make this shape? I tried some stuff but i just can't get it right. Notice how on the original the sides are the same width, i don't know hot to make that cut and keep it like that.
I tried recreating the vertical cylinder to make it line up with the segments of the V-shaped poles more. I had to dissolve and slide some edges on the vertical cylinder though which didn't preserve the perfect roundness of the cylinder like I wanted.
hi @milldevi ! Thanks a lot for your effort! it does seem like the way i tried to take but if you look closely you can see the inside of the cutout ball is curved into a ball shape.. i couldn't succeed with the boolean to create that shape ..
Not wanting to sound like a parrot (probably am one already), but look back in the threads and you would have found the answer(s) to your problem (there are flat surfaces you can simply terminate the edges, make an inset of the loop, etc etc).
Dear All, I would like to ask how to make better wireframe for this rim without any little distortion (if there is solution at all). I tried a lot, but I don't find better solution. Could you please help me? thx
Not exactly like that, but with some adjustment you can get the same "curvature" . I have to redo it to explain the process. You're right, in the video I did it with 24, haven't tried with less. Watching more carefully the references, my shape is not even correct.
Thanks guys, I think I got it. Actually this shape is a bit tricky (for me anyway), because you have to match the roundness on the side and on the back part. In the end the shape came like this Not sure if that was the best approach, but it looks way better now.
Hey peeps... So I'm trying to figure out how to sculpt lips. They give me the most trouble!! They always turn out looking like duck lips >.< Left is Ref. Right side is my atrocious lips Please help! D:
No, Not really. They are hard for a reason because without those defined edges on the front it wouldn't be hard surface it would be a blob. What i want is evenly spread geometry so that it curves around and back without it stretching like that. EDIT This is what i mean.
It's not? It looks like pole on edge of cylinder. Insetting (or outsetting if you're not fan of inverting selection) area around the cylinder should get rid of your problem by moving the triangle on a flat area where it won't be visible. Oh. And...nicely planned topology :poly121:.
