Right! I've done a days worth of shopping around and it seems despite that pre-built on Overclockers being a decent enough price, I can get it as seperates for quite a bit less. I've got a couple people who have built systems before I can get help from so I'm gonna go for the self-build option! Just before I hit the buy…
Hey all, here is a update. I was able to keep working today after quite the hiatus, was it a week or 2? Anyways, I kept on refining the model. I then added some nice materials to give the model more of a bang visually. All I need to do is Rig and Render and thats that. For modeling purposes I think Im pretty much finished…
arsh: bluehost rocks and is like $7/month, way more bandwidth than you'll ever need too. 200 gigs space, 2,000 gigs per month, and they keep upping it, when i signed up it was like 400 gigs per month and 15 gigs space. No reason to get cheapy hosting.
Great update! That should produce a nice normal map. As for how many polygons your low polygon object should be? For that I would say 200-400 polies on the conservative side and 600-800 if you wanted to really round out the corners and the cylinders. Just my estimates though.
(the GC bombed even worse than the N64 with projected end-of-life total sales of ~20M, the N64 sold around 40M) Nintendo is playing it safe while innovating, they throw the same five franchises at any game no matter how different it is. Take Donkey Konga, Jungle Beat and King of Swing: All three use the Donkey Kong brand…
Here's an example of a "high poly" model. Basically, for normal-mapping, you use subdivided (Meshsmoothed) polygon geometry, and use a plugin or application to render the meshsmoothed version of the model down onto an "in-game" resolution mesh. Between 3000-7500 polys sounds about right for the in-game model, but there's…
hawken, I hear ya. I was making referance to the childerns book "The Little Engine That Could". In my eyes the DS is already a succes with Animal crossing, Advance Wars 3, Nintendogs, MarioDS and the entire back catalog of games I have for the GBA. Any games that come out after this (like Kingdom Hearts) will be icing on…
