The number of steps already increases.I basically have a curve aligned at the top and bottom of the stairs. The number of steps is based on the length of that curve. The height/length of the steps is based on the slope of that curve. Adjusting the number of steps would not give the effect you're expecting. I don't think… -

It could be the action was made in a different version of Photoshop. Actions are notoriously fickle and fragile. I would suggest unchecking all the steps in it, then enable them one at a time, and running the Action each time. Basically, running it step by step. See where it breaks.
