Re: 3ds max snapping scripts?
Make sure 3D snap active, not 2D or 2.5. Right click it and go to the options tab and check on "Use Axis Center As Start Snap Point". Why they have the default set to off I'll never know... screws everyone up the first time they try to use it. -

Go management all the way if you want a steady job. It's more enjoyable to have a steady job and do art in your spare time. In 2.5 years you went from game tester to halfway to development manager (DD?) Think about that and compare it to the opportunities for artists. -

What about installing it on a external thumb or usb drive? You can get external usb cases for 2.5 internal ide or sata drives , and the older 40-50gig 5400 drives can be gotten for dirt cheap. Its how I take work to and from home. -

Sweet man looking forward to updates on your site. Another followup what kind of polycount are you talking about for those bricks. Every time I try something like that in max the thing chugs at like 2.5 frames because of the sheer number of turbosmoothed bricks! -

BC7 is great to keep the same Quality with Color Linear to be sure to not have problem with gamma Use this math to recreate your Blue Channel and after. add at the end Normalise Muliply by 2.5 add -1… -

Oh that's fun, I was just there last week. Nice work :) One note, everything there is a bit less even than you'd expect. the pavement, the walls, etc. And it's also pretty narrow, maybe 2.5 people shoulder to shoulder in that alley with the leaves above the street. Here's a shot from last week, it's all a bit less orderly… -

Hey if this topic is still valid, and if you're using the scanline renderer don't forget to keep the supersampler as 2.5 star in the RTT options and turn off antialiasing and filter map in the render options. Thanks! The fire alarm is a bit large. Also the door is a 4:7 ratio, while most real world doors are 3:7 or 2.5:7. The real ratios look a bit strange in game though, also I wanted the door to be wide enough that the player could easily get through it. Might tinker with the scale of the fire alarm and the ratio of the door.
