How are you modelling this, do you just extrude out shapes and play around with the edges? With smoothing groups turned off? Really nice lighting and colours btw, love teh crystals in the desert =) .
Oh, i've also done the high poly for her desert eagle pistol too, i actually made this first a couple days ago and decided it'd be good to have a character to go with it lol.
There was an image here with some info, showing a desert environment, it's either temporarily down or the link was removed. You can see some scanned content in Toolbag 2 and also Snefer's latest thread here.
very cool! are you definitely going with that camo? the desert style looked really good as well. I think the camo is actually working a bit well on the forest shots and making the model harder to read.

My first diorama is an Arid desert. I currently do not have the render version with me i'll post it tonight. My next diorama will be a green meadow and also my entry to this month artjam.
And here is the last step! What do you think of Syndra's orbs? I thought emerald and sand would be nice materials for a Surima Desert style. I had a very hard time with the hair. >_< '
Throwing my own chara project. Aiming at desert punk ;] Don't have much time now so will try to post some crit later. Sukotto - waiting for progress. Concept looks sick.
There was an old Rogue Trooper story set in a desert that had been hit by a nuke and fused into glass. When you think about the 500 mph winds that go with a nuclear explosion, could be an interesting place.
Armchair Thriller was very spooky indeed, especially that Nun stuff! Sapphire and Steel had a fair bit of creepiness too =/ PS. I love deserted asylums =P http://www.abandoned-britain.com/photos.htm
