OMG Eric your the most awesome guy ever. You can put the number after the file and it works perfectly. Thank you so freakin much!!! My Demo reel just became a day shorter.
The people in india are overworked with studios overwhelmed with work outsourced to them. Outsourcing studios cut costs like crazy from using unlicensed software to subcontracting to independent contracters to further reduce costs. This is because the companies have to underbid to get AAA outsourcing contracts. To add to…
Eric nailed the culprit. You might not have access to premade assets and tools in all your jobs. So you better know what to do then. But when it's already available, then use it. There is just one rule: allowed is what works.
@Eric Chadwick Thanks for the response. That was a nifty workaround. I tried it. Opened it again in 3ds Max, but the Skin Morph is nowhere to be find. It's a bit of bummer. So I guess, it's not possible. Anyhow, thanks again. Have a great day ahead!
@Eric Chadwick I believe MR tangent calculator is pretty f**ked. Have a look at this post: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-max-forum/mentalray-bug-incorrect-tangent-normal-map-calculations/td-p/6313176
Eric: That watch is about perfect. It looks like that was done with some volumetric effects. I might be able to do something similar with a handful of animated cones and a few scrolling textures. Edit: Oh, there is an after effects tutorial in the video description.
Thanks alot even Eric though I've read this thing plenty of time already :D . They did an outstanding job for the fur if you ask me. Though, there isn't many detail about the animation except their use of the IK solvers.
I like Eric's program, it just copies the folders I choose on to the usb drive. It looks for new files that have been added and time stamp changes on existing files. Quite good once you get it set up.
@Eric Chadwick - Yep, exactly that. It's incredibly painful to watch someone try to get their portfolio to load, since it most likely won't at GDC. Obviously, in general, put it online. But for GDC specifically it's best to just have a local folder of images.
Hi Eric, thanks for your answer. I was thinking about doing this, but I though that at least ONE man on Polycount could have met the same issue. I'll wait a bit more and contact Autodesk if nothing happens. Samuel.
