Most pouches has ha fairy hidden connection point to the MOLLE straps. They tend to look wrong/worse modelled on or with too strong bump maps really, I'd say texture them on. On a bump map, try to cut down on pushing the whole strap out, rather focus on the outdent it gets inbetween the vertical stitches. I don't know if… -

for me the value is in improving on the algorithms for tasks like denoising, height map/normal map generation, light removal, edgedetection, tiling etc. These are things that can't be done perfectly with generalised standard algorithms as they require intuition about the content of the image. When I was at 8ml we had an inhouse tool to "paint" the direction, or sort of "comb" the direction. How it worked was you had a 3d model, basic 3d paint interface and you would paint the direction map by literally drawing brush strokes in a certain direction.
