Hey, thanks a lot for the reply! In theory it looks like it could work as long as I bake the animation down, which seems to be something that is common for the others! However, it all goes bonkers and it behaves really erratic. Just to see if I got it right, I have a copy location constraint on the root pointing at the…
keep vertex colouring as multiply only in render, it all you need anyway with 100%illumination. "blend" the terrain with different maps, ie cliff side top and bottom, then match them up in uvs. tanks looking alot lot better, i only suggested 128 because it is possible for main character style objects, my porco stuff used 1…
i also don't mind the graphics downgrade.. i played FF 7, 8, X, X-2 and a little bit of 12.. now i'm playing FF6; sure it isn't 3d and the graphics are very modest but i'm still enjoying it because it has a really nice story, and you can connect with each of its 7+ characters.. i personally think FF went downhill after the…
Heya - you are missing the point being made in the replies above by about a mile. By "the tool doesn't matter", no one is saying that the cut tool from software X is the same as the cut tool from software Y. Because that would be, quite frankly, a dumb and pointless thing to say. What is actually being said is, cut tool X…
I don't know how this works for other people, but as for myself, I always think of the kind of game that I want my model to be in, and then take screenshots or find other kinds of pictures; I model by level of detail rather than polygon count and it works rather well. The problem with a fixed polygon count is that if you…
I've run into a problem with a feature in Wall Worm Model Tools (ongoing thread at http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78621 ) that I have been stumped on and currently don't have time to figure out. I'd like to fix a feature that sets the $origin setting in models' QC file as an offset from the world origin.…
Thanks Daz. That tank almost got me my first real full time job at least two years ago so I sort of have a little love for it. The art lead of the team really loved it, but he felt my work was inconsistent. All the models are made to fit in RTS games except the Cute Tank. I do hate the very hard highlights on the M1 tank…
Edit: Ack what did I do wrong? with the embedding? Wow wonderful, most of the videos have already been removed due to terms of use violation. It says the length of videos are too long. Youtube is worthless. Ok here are the videos on youtube so they are very easy to play. I am most proud of Nergal gameplay-wise. In Nergal,…
Thanks for the answer, Vipera! Unfortunatly, it didn't help. I bake in xNormal with +Y setting. My normal looks more or less ok in the 3DO window without material and looks like a normal of an average box with a bit smoothed edges(I saw pics in the Internet). I tested DDO with some other simple objects and it seems like on…
This can be done with an Orbit and a Initial RotRate. Example: You set the orbit to have matching Max and Min, on Offset and Rotation, use the Initial RotRate as a negative version of the Orbit's Rotation to keep the sprite from 'moving'. Keep in mind that this is really just an illusion and if you were to look at it from…
