Hi, I would like to inquire about the displacement input map. What kind of map can be used in ddo? 8, 16, 32 bit maps? Biased or unbiased? I had several problems with that and it's not clear for me. Tnahks for your response. Peter
This doesn't work for me. In a recent post I made I pasted the youtube link like you say, but as you can see in the post, all it is is a link, no embeded video. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1520824&postcount=32
It might be related to precision. Cryengine by default only uses 16-bit float precision, which will cause distortion with certain assets. I think there is a way to up it to 32 bit in the newer builds, but not sure. You might check on the Cryengine forums.
I believe Modo uses a flavor of Catmull–Clark subdivision, which will never give you a perfect circle, but most of the time, I feel like 32, 64, 128 is good enough, depending on the size, scale, and how close it will be to the camera.
Switched on "Seam Termination" Results are below - Its now completely ignoring my work area. I did save my TGA's out as 24bit, might try saving them all out as 32 to see if it makes much difference
Try to up the lightmap resolution to 32 or 64 in the concrete barriers properties and do another render see if there's a difference. If it's not the light map it could be the indirect light in your dominant directional light that's blowing out your shadows. Try to lower it a bit.
Ah, there is a program named unlocker that unlocks stuff in win xp x86, (probably the one you're talking about, too). I was trying to use it on my windows (xp x64) but it only works on 32 bit versions or somethingl ike that, unfortunately.
Yeah any time you have a small section of a prop that needs alpha, split it off onto its own small texture, you will likely save memory, because 32 bit compressed is twice the size of 24 bit compressed.
Another small issue is that your top rail has 30 gaps and it should have 32... i know, its nitpicking, but im in the process of making a vector so these small details are etched into my brain these days. :)
This worked wonderfully. Although setting it to 512 puts my video memory almost full and its a 2080ti :'D So it should be used with caution. Hoping to see 32 gb consumer videocards in the upcoming releases :P
