Haven't posted personal work in a while, been quite busy the last months. But finally i have some stuff to show that i've been working on recently, which is great as i normally aren't allowed to show what i've been working on and otherwise it would be airborn, so i'm happy to have something thats not project based and my…
You need to gather reference images. Just google stuff like 'human proportions', 'face proportions'. You can find a lot of good stuff on pinterest. Compare what you did again and again to different refs. Do it from different angles. It would be good if you would start learning anatomy. Another great way to improve is to…
Basically linear = no gamma correction, sRGB = gamma correction. Pretty much any photo or image made to view on a monitor is gamma corrected, basically a linear image is telling your display to increase the brightness of each pixel in a very constant and even way, but when you do that, the actual results you see on the…
Hi pedro8999, Some of the shapes you've got there are pretty cool. I'd look at controlling the eye with value and position of some of the focal elements. For example if you apply some rough ambient occlusion to the image, the recessed wall on the left could be in slight shadow. The main 'money shot' looks like it's either…
Hey guys Chances are you've seen the article I uploaded last week '15 Tips To Improve As An Artist'. Following on from this I've just uploaded my latest article which is in a similar vein. Since my first blockout, I've been truly free from focus and composition headaches. I think my blockout now has improved a lot compared to before. I decided that I wouldn't really follow the concept 100% anymore but incorporate more of my own personal elements. I spent a lot of time looking for more reference images of the…
I rarely use Zbrush nowadays and it started to fade away from my memory but as far as I remember the wrap mode works only on square planes. And I hardly ever had square shaped textures for anything tile-able. I usually just made 2.5d copy , wrapped it 50%, captured textures. Then displaced it to a new plane. Lately it's…
I would go with something big or custom-like car/truck-inspired and something fun to sculpt. http://bootsnallonline.co.nz/images/AT023.JPG http://www.manufacturer.com/cimages/product/Buynow.www.wholesalecentral.com/0401/x/38831.jpg…
I do not see anything wrong with your texture result. If you want to bake other objects into the same texture make sure you uncheck clear (render settings -> Bake -> clear). Alternatively you can combine your individual texture bakes in an image editor. Black is not a correct normal map color, but if you really want that…
the 16 bit image is a new feature of photoshop cs, it did not exist in 7, 8bit is usually what you want to use, .jpg probably does not support 16bit images and thus you can't save to that format with such a high bit depth. I think a 16bit image is a high dynamic range image perhaps? I could be wrong but I think it allows…
