Thanks Elrinion. I think I'm just going to turn it into a diorama scene inside of Marmoset Toolbag 2. That way it can be viewed inside of Marmoset Viewer as well. I'll probably add some grass, a few rocks, and maybe a little bit of vegetation to fill it out a little more.
I did it like that on another texture, but my vision for this one is that it's indoors, in a city witch nature have claimed back. So the flood should be in like a hotel lobby or something. My idea was that the moss or vegetation have been coming up from the ground and pushed the floor tiles up.
Long time no post. I tried to participate at Sculptjanuary but I had to do a bunch of work besides. So I decided to quit the competition. But it was great to create something new everyday. Here is a selection of this works. Arm Asteroid Sphinx Vegetables (Chili Witch) a few more in the next posting...
Here's a small update let me know what you guys think, ill be adding vegetation later on just wanted to make a simple blockout. I also just got unreal 4 so im excited to learn the new engine. Feel free to leave any crits
We are looking mainly now for one more concept artist (with a focus on nature, oriental elements and fantasy), one more 3d character modeller, one more animator (with a focus on fighting) and one 3d environment artist (create vegetation, small objects and fantasy architecture). Some work in progress:
The best and most widely used way to do that without additional textures is vertex colors. Super easy, tons of tutorials on the web, recognized by CE3 without any additional setup required, and overall is very useful for other more advanced effects like vegetation bending setup and blend layers.
Baolang, will you be breaking of this down for us to gush over? I'm sure a lot of folks would like to see your vegetation, the arches, your background art, and so on all broken down to wires & textures. Talk to us about how you made this environment, we'd love to hear it.
@alex1111 That looks really promising, can't wait to see how you manage the underwater area. My only critic for now is that the beach goes a little too far back, mostly on the right side and does not leave enough space for the vegetation; or perhaps you need more terrain in the back.
Small update from last night put down more vegetation, fixed col bug dansh found amd fixed addition collision error found in later playtesting. You can grab latest version here (require may udk or newer) http://chrisholden.net/dm-openhall.zip
I said nothing to the effect of it being Shakespeare. I meant simply that American film studios (and other ventures) change things for no good reason or on the premise that American audiences can't relate to Asian themes/characters. OH NOES WE CAN'T UNDERSTAND FOREIGN! For me the lowest common denominator is the studio…
