Congrats man! You really hung in there, and I'm glad it worked out. I was out of work From January to November (Got a contract position), and my contract just finished up in February and I'm looking again. So I know how stressful being out of work for long periods of time can be. I'm super stoked that something worked out…
From what I understand mantle only requires an AMD GPU and not a CPU. It's mostly about developer support after that I think. Also this demo runs great on my nvidia gtx 680 as it is. But it starts to chug a bit on the stress test (which constantly spawns units every second for as long as you let it run) while with mantle…
^ THAAAAAAAAAANK YOUUU The pose is still completely unstable, her center mass falls on her bent left leg - tremendous stress for her quads. Right leg is on the same line as the left and points in the same direction - no side stability... If you still want her to lunge like that, place her right knee on the ground, so she…
You can also try to have a very soft pressure setting on your tablet. That way you will tend to use broader and/or stronger strokes right from the start, and I find it gives yourself more confidence in the long run -not to mention it is also less stressful for your wrists as you don't need to press like mad to get a 100%…
I'm actually getting over a bit of insomnia due to stress and a change in the weather...allergies. Waking has been difficult. I'm going to take some time tomorrow and maybe this weekend to loosen up, relax, and hopefully get my energy and flexibility back. Plus my mind has been too busy thinking about mod assignments,…
I was never much of an animator myself but a few things stick out pretty clearly to me. id stress the slow out of the lift far more and add some overlapping action to the blade. I find it a bit odd that they are able to lift it above their head in 1 fluid move but cant hold its weight. its like its a light sword that was…

Hi everybody! I started this model as a "stress test" for improving the features of Hard Mesh. Check out the video if you are interested in non destructive modeling in Maya https://vimeo.com/220911266 Lot's of details and improvements must be done, but since is all in construction history, I can always edit the shapes…
Does it only freeze up when gaming? Do you get any graphic artifacts leading up to this? I'd look at separating CPU/GPU/RAM problems, maybe run a benchmark that stresses one at a time. RAM should be easy to test via POST, uncheck 'quick boot' for a full memory scan.
lulz Thanks! I'm back working on the Star Wars: The Old Republic web site (I helped launch it last fall). Protip: when you take a game industry job because it will be less stressful and have shorter hours than the one you're leaving, something is terribly wrong with your life choices.
