I'll get some screenshots up shortly. Gonna merge the 2 exploded meshes into a new scene and rebuild the models. Something I probably should have done in the first place. I saw a guy on another tut have a seperate scene for each model, then merged both into a new scene to do the explode/bakeout. Live and learn I guess. I…
regarding edge bleeding imo a quick way in PS is: - duplicate a merge of your texture, - blur it by the amount you want to bleed it, e.g 8 pixels - duplicate that layer like 10-20 times so taht the blurred alpha gradient on the border from the blur filter is solid and not opaque at all anymore - merge that whole blur copy…
Not sure what you are trying to do. Can you post a screenshot? If you are trying to integrate a form with 2 subtools you can merge them (merge down is under the subtool list) then use the polygroup menu under tools main menu, click auto at the top and put the 2 models in different polygroups. Just mask the mesh you don't…
Sorry to hear about the layoffs. Layoffs suck, however new opportunities don't. Merge the top two verts to centre and the bottom 2 and then zoom inside your object and select the 2 faces left in there and delete them :) Delete the already extruded faces and fill that hole and then click both faces and extrude them together this time :) Pull them apart like what you did in your 3rd image and delete the…
It should be fine if you use modifiers from the program you use, something like symmetry or mirror functions, and merge the vertices that overlap. That way you have a mirrored texture but no shading problems. At least it works for me usually. That straight shading line you get there is quite logical as 2 objects have…
There was nothing in the file as far I could tell. When you try to merge from it the 'Merge' dialog box appears but there are no objects to select. I think I found out what it is though - it's something to do with the way in which the company I work for store their attributes/metadata about objects in the scene. The…
I am having a bit of trouble with this. Im not sure what to do. I made this bag and the things sitting on it as different subtools. I wanna connect the things (feather, map, container etc.) to the ring. but to do that I need to merge the objects. Is this the right way to do it? or is there another way? like for the…
The only real option is to mirror them one at a time by using mirror and weld which will keep the subtools seperated. An alternative is to merge them all down into one, mirror and weld then groups split to bring them back to their individual subtools. A word of warning though, merging erases subD history IIRC so only do…
Hmmm so its basically just geo that you put around your main model? Its never merged/combined into the rest of the model? I guess in max they just have a fancy function to display it merged? I guess it will be baked off as seperate maps then combined in photoshop? Is there a way I can get a fancy render of the high poly…
