as a scout she needs a shirt, some pants, and a decent pair of boots. and probably decent hooded cloak to protect against the rain. right now nothing really says 'scout'. and better lighting. well lit from all sides and on a neutral background. moody single point lighting of dark textures on a black background doesn't help…
Can't see loops for animation, but if you are baking from a high poly model you shouldn't be having problems with 5 point poles or the dark patches on the end of the shirt sleeve. If you are modeling for animation or posing your topology and neutral pose are not the best. What works for me is putting all polys in one…
I really like the idea of your project. Do you also want to make a few animations to mimic the floating? In terms of the colours, in the beginning I had a few problems to read the shapes. Maybe its helpful to give the top part more colourful areas and then work with a neutral colour pallete on the bottom area. But anyways,…
I am glad you decided to give us perspective from a neutral standpoint Seforin. It is always hard to judge a situation from one side, just like a car accident. One person says one thing, the other says another, and then the witness comes in and brings the truth. I just saw this via facebook, and I have come to a decision…
I just use Hard Light. You can also use Overlay but then you need to reduce your blue channel by 50%. As far as I understand neither technique is 100% mathematically correct and can give some slight variation in results, but I find that Hard Light works for almost everything I've come across. And if you are just blending…
Bad Zbrush material, can't tell what's going on. Use a gray clay matcap. Harsh background for the document. Use something more desaturated and neutral in tone. Document size too small. I can see a lot of artifacting in the image. I recommend upping your document size or making sure the original image doesn't heavily…
Hi so I'm kinda an idiot with the whole custom shader thing and I have no clue if I'm even using it correctly. Is there a video or something I can watch/read to understand how to use your custom cell shader? I'm using your 1.05 on ver. 3.04 it loads up but I don't notice any...cell shading happening. Thanks again…
Hey Tom thanks for the link, I might get a neutral pose for study. To go off on a slight tangent, I'm interested to know if a lot of 3d scan data is used in games? Those cloth examples are fantastic and thought stuff like that would be really handy for something like a Call of Duty title, but can imagine it would have its…
I missed your initial round at the 40k style, but I think I know what you're missing in the 40k flavor. All these portraits you've posted look bored or posed, or otherwise rather neutral. No one is wh40k is at peace. Even the armor scowls. :) Try adding gaunter features, or furrowed brows, or more squinty eyes and the…
No kidding. For a place so verbose about "freedom and equality" we seem to fail rather epically every chance we get to actually promote those concepts. Now if some nation will just make the licencing gender neutral and have some provision for more than two names per document, or more than one document per individual…
