Basically, yeah. I played with the width and height of the iris and pupil, trying to create the illusion that her iris made up the whole of her eyes, like with most animals. Sadly I won't be able to use this when I take the model into ZBrush, but at least this gave me an idea of the final design I'm looking for!
Yea well what is happening with the eye geometry is that the scalara is opaque up until where the iris begins on it, then I have a transparency mask running on the scalara to make it see through to the iris, so yea whatever is behind that transparent part of the scalara will show, and apparently that's parts of the…

The Joan of arc tutorial is what I used to get started. The loops and such are all good enough for game use, just use your own refferance and orthos instead of the provided ones and follow the tuto steps. My first model was actually a demon male and I used the Joan D' Arc tuto to make it ;)
I've got some free time so I'll try and leave you some thorough notes on this. It's a solid first pass. I can see your ideas and how you implemented it but some of it still lacks clarity. -Around frame 12 as his head comes forward, it seems to hit a wall and recoil back along the same path. This is a nice place to add some…
You should check those eyes. They're not fitting to the eyesockets properly. Inner parts of the eye cavity is seen too much. For example, the tear duct (caruncula lacrimalis) touches the eyeball. Size of the iris and the pupil are proportionally alright, but you have to scale eyeballs bigger. Bear in mind the proportions…
hitting the spline button is only the first step. its in no way the easy mode button. you still have to go through and adjust the curves. Here, I`ll try to explain. So in the picture below is the translate y. Lets say its the up and down motion of a foot while it's walking. the first picture is in stepped mode. The next…
So this is really coming along. here are my crits: Skin: looks better in the most recent images but I can't see the face. As of the last images with the face, there was VERY little color variation which made it look like a flat color. Spec was also lacking so her whole face looks very flat and lifeless IMO. Add in some…
A fair few peeps have inquired about my workflows for this piece, So I thought I'd create a bunch of Tuts together in this thread. I don't often make tutorials since like every artist I don't think I'm good enough yet haha, however given the amount of peeps having asked, I'll try and give some helpful advice as best I can…
