One thing that's worth mentioning is that max's inverted faces view can be misleading The shape of faces in the W coordinate can cause false positives, as can "almost" overlapping edges. check W - if it's flat, comfirm that the faces are actually inverted - its very unlikely that a face that's welded to another will be… -

Ive been there once for a few days, its a pretty place, got some really nice bars, you're going to freeze your ass off at that time of year.. when I was there it was like -15 to -20 at night and about -5 during the day dec-jan. I get that same problem too. What fixes it for me, and this is gonna sound random, but you select some vert and hit W to go into the move tool, then hit R to go into the scale tool, and back to W for move. Don't know why it works, but it works for me. So try it. -

Re: Need a BADASS LAPTOP!
I've got a 17" i7 Macbook Pro w/8gb ram and an SSD. Video card is mid range at best (GT 330M w/512mb), nothing crazy, but solid. I've used it to make some pretty heavy characters (in zbrush, mudbox & XSI), no problems. Light weight (as far as a 17" laptop goes), great battery life too. -

I just saw this on Youtube. Rad show. Its got nice animation and backgrounds, voice actors and story. Gore, comedy, gratuitious sex appeal, action, badassness I reminds me of a mix of heavy metal, conan, castlevania, ironsword / W&W. As much as I like He-man this is the mega testosterone end of the spectrum. Brilliant show.
