Because for 10 years, companies have been more then happy paying large sums of money to buy software, which still can't bake normal maps, and aren't willing to take the 'next' step in hardware development, although that would cancel out most of the issues we are having nowadays and drive down 'leak' costs considerably.…
@Mr Smo Thanks man! Dropping some trees this week: Tree: D,N=2k; 4300tri I was learning Headus UVlayout while unwrapping this tree. It is really nice tool but I can still feel my brain aching :D It seems like the AO is too strong, I will try to reduce it. Any feedback would be appreciated.
It's like the days of paper resumes. They get a TON of them so they filter quick. Long cover letter? Next. Weird paper color? Next. Hard to read font? Next. Anything to cut down on the number of resumes they had to read. Tor summed it up perfectly. When your URL loads, put art in my face. Period.
i'd say yes, but constantly running 4 instances of maya with a couple gig files each, few max instances, zbrush, photoshop with huge files and unreal4... it sums up pretty quickly. sure i could close some instances. but i have to check so many files a day. i just keep em running.
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] What is that she's holding in her hand? [/ QUOTE ]You probably should have your Polycount membership revoked for that question. Its a Quake 3 rocket launcher. [/ QUOTE ] What the hell is Quake? nah, I'm joking. ...or am I? Let's just pretend I DON'T know what it is, and kinda briefly sum it up for me.
Rofl damn Rick, why so defensive? Vig summed up what I meant quite well. It just seems a *bit* more tragic, because she was probably trying to get the Wii for her kids, whereas if it was just some nerdy single person we would probably just be saying "damn, that guy was nerded out to death!"
Nah, the first two sounded like explanations from people who use Max, yours is good :P Could be shorter though. "Any edge whose adjacent faces are in different groups, becomes a hard edge" about sums it up ;) Not gonna comment on the effectiveness of said system, I'm already up to my bitching quota for this month.
In terms of aesthetics, Rage is a masterpiece IMO. You could spin the mouse and wherever it fell would usually be a beautifully composed piece of art. I personally didnt care that the textures got blurry when you got real close. The overall was so nice that for me it far outweighed the sum of its parts.
haaaahaha are you seriously giving these arguements any credibility bah I dont want to start summing up counterarguments but you should probably read about the actual moon program and how they did it and what they actually did on the moon instead of reading moon hoax conspiracies without knowing anything about it :(
I've branched out from game art into architectural VR, also medical equipment modeling for VR, ui art for mobile, etc. Those jobs tend to pay quite a bit more than game art, since architectural/medical/simulation clients are used to paying larger sums for professional services.
