Okeedokee. I'm at 1932 tri's including the spear and accessories. Aaaand I believe I'm just about ready to start UV mapping. Crits on the model very much welcome before I take this to texture!
We need to create about 100-200 concept pieces for a fantasy game. Looking for a studio who can handle. Speed is important but quality is most important. Items will include: gloves, armor, weapons, foot gear, and more wearables.
Oh, the April 1st theme never disappoints! It's hard to believe Polycount has been around for so long. So many people, including myself, got their first industry job thanks to this community :)
Liking this angle at the moment. Had an idea to include a subway going by. Who know's, might animate it going by B) . Going to clutter up the scene a bit more. Junk, signs and some areas of vegetation.
I'm not sure if there's a way. You can go into the rollup bar while having the object selected, and click the browse icon. Some info of the object should show up in the browser, including tris count.
Depending on what you are showcasing try to avoid using anything that you didn't create (such as the day 1 vegetation you get with UDK). Also, try to include model statistics such as polycounts and texture sizes.
Nice; you have some really cool pieces in your portfolio. Particularly the overgrown city—nice to see you've included pics of individual props and textures too. Good luck at Crytek :D
I agree with you 100%, that was a great video and I own one of the books he recommended, "Robert Coyle, the talent code." Another great author he did not include would be Brain Tracey.
Wow. that's awesome dude. How very nice of you! :) I will definitely check this out when i get home. Seems like there are loads of people needing the max to maya lessons... Including myself.
I don't think this is really along my line of work but i might know someone who'd be interested. I'm just curios, does it need to be rigged or include animations? or simply a textured model?
