@PyrZen: I have had that problem a couple times. Have you tried using local symmetry instead? @Abidus: Try using z-remesher to a lower polygon count; it looks lumpy and a hard to sculpt on right now. @atomicguppy: I think the borders defining the lips are way too sharp and the nose too straight in the side profile. Started…
Here's an update on the textures. I've been working a lot on the metal scratches. The magazine still needs a lot more love. I'm also still working on localizing the wear on the polymer parts of the rifle. In the screenshots at the top I'm using the 3Point shader, still trying to learn how to use it cause it looks a little…
do not underestimate the bob <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PgIxtlCNNe0&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PgIxtlCNNe0&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425"…
I got this apothecary desk set from staples, pretty cheaply too. It's mostly fake-wood, but has a real wood desktop. It's a pretty decent set up too. http://www.staples.com/Staples-Apothecary-Collection-Mahogany-Finish/product_SS1034817 I got it in black and then bought out all the local staples of their little tiny cubby…
Ok so, question for ZacD, oXYnary and anyone else who is interested in loaning the device: Would you be OK with me keeping an updated list(in the first post here) with a queue, your username and the city you live in? This way other local polycounters could see where it is and get in contact with you in person to use it. Of…
I agree with Eric, its also better to use separate meshes because most engines can cull a few pieces that aren't seen (roof, windows, walls ect) and help performance rather than keeping the whole building visible because you can see a tiny corner of it. Or worse, it bases it's visibility culling calculation on the objects…
That's awesome! What kind? Is it a kit? I go to a local Brew-your-own-beer pub with some friends about 2 times a year. I've thought about making it at home but it's crazy fun to hang out, brew and "sample" everyone's beer on bottling day and there is always someone there bottling... so yea, awesome stuff you're doing, if…
A entry to mid level gaming pc should be decient enough for modeling. I'm running a 3200 XP w/ 1 gig Mem and Radeon 1600xt. It runs XSI 5.1 fine, but can get a lil laggy in Zbrush. Anything faster than this should be good, just don't expect renders to be quick. I can recommend www.memoryexpress.com if you live locally to…
I'm sorry man but I've tried the 2 option on multi map exporter on zbrush but still producing the same problem. Interesting enough that at first I thought it's a vertex normal problem but then when I bake polypaint I got this; And it seems that the direction of each face on the uv is actually rotated (see the forehead hair…
I recently mixed a script that uses vertex colors and then bake it using RTT - and it works in just 1 click. It is based on this script: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/pits-peaks the order of things is something like this:for i = 1 to $.numVerts do( local colr = color (random 0 255) (random 0 255) (random 0…
