Love the turtle, Muzz - great expression. Last time I had ribs on my back, I made that exact same face ;) Haven't posted here in a little bit - hope it's okay to drop a few at a time: Hmmm... need to work on some different poses...
lol halfway through drawing him I just said screw it and started drawing "face-armor". I know none of it matches the theme, I was just trying to give him a little bit of story. Any tips on making this guy a little more true to character?
Dunno if this is the right place (the 2D artists and forums here scare me with their talent) but in an effort to improve my digital painting primarily for texturing I have been doing some material studies on spheres, then putting weird faces on them because...I felt like it .. lol
@Erik everyone thinks it's from Avenged lol. It's just a skull with wings, inspired mainly from zelda bubbles, but I'm definitely going to have to start listening to Avenged. Sweet character sketch by the way. I think it would be cool if the top half of her face was more in shadow
achillesian: i like your messy brush strokes! tacit math: not that i think you need it, but you could make some dough if you put that stuff on t-shirts and sold... my latest: struggled a lot with the face of the girl... thinking about putting more orcs behind her
Yes, moof, i agree with it. You know, in past, when i started from important areas(like faces)- i didnt have this problem. But now when i try to keep whole image in my head, in most cases composition center dissapears, heh. Thank you for your feedback!
Didn't want to post anything new until I had a reasonable bunch. **Sorry about the image size I kept resizing them in the post but every time I submit they go to this size. Most of the faces is me just doing exercises from a book, the other are mostly flights of fancy with no reference material.
Thanks man! If that paint is even 10% of the quality of Warren Louw I'd be really happy. Face is too large, agreed, I kinda of wanted it to be a bit larger than how it realistically would be; but I probably pushed it a bit too far. The good thing is that once it's printed in A1 that doesn't really show. :D
muzz cool faces, but all of them seems to be v-shaped. is that intentional? i like the black haired girl the most! heres is my latest skethces; would appriciate some feedback on the last one. i trying to improve my composition and depth when it comes to environments. i think i should looks more at references maybe.
badass wizo :D good luck with the acrylics, that stuff scares me honestly. You're braver than me. love those faces allan! Makes me wanna sketch some :o makkon <3 tacit... dude, I love everything you do, do you think you'll ever take any of these to a finished state... maybe make a 3d model or something?
