Hey all, working on this little guy for a bit of study and a good excuse to pick up Marmoset and try it out. I'll be posing him up and sculpting a little pedestal for him next - a treelog with some foliage, fungus and little glowy things.
Orb- Thanks! You're right I will work on the emissive some more. SeanEG - Thanks, will post more often here from now on:) gmax5 - I used Zbrush for highpoly and texturing, max and topogun for retopo and low res and it's rendered in marmoset engine.
Thanks. Yeah I used Alphas. You have to put it into the Alpha Channel of the Diffuse Map and then adjust the Alpha Threshold Slider until it fits. Don't know if the new version of Marmoset can use more than 1bit Alpha, the old (free) version can't.
Messing around with marmoset toolbag, with diffuse and normal, no specular. Still a bit of work to do on the diffuse, like removing some of the excess scratches and adding some finer detail here and there, but I'd like to think that I'm almost done with it. As always, any comments and suggestions are appreciated. cheers!
Sauron: really sweet the last one! jarrede: no texture yet, but looks already awesome. Keep going! :) i did q quick render test of my croc thing. Just downloaded the cryengine3 mod sdk.. Now i don't know what to use, marmoset or ce3...
Trying to take some renders for my portfolio, but I can't tell if this is dark as shite or not. In photoshop it looks bright, in firefox/explorer, it looks dark. Looks fine in marmoset tho. 1718 tris and 1024 maps btw. based off of this: http://www.eveonline.com/tyrannis/images/conceptArt/pi_concept05.jpg
Allen-p - Id turn down your sss a bit, he looks like candle wax at the moment:) Id suggest how... but Ive never played with sss, its still on my to do list:) Finished this blah up:) Redid the base today... ready for something new. Rendered in Marmoset:
I still have some minor shading errors and bake f-ups left to fix, but i'm pretty much done with the baking now.. Testing the glass material in marmoset. The right window have it, the other is just plain alpha to coverage.. (shamless dubble pimp, i should know better)
Thanks Maph> I'll tweak the settings in Marmoset so it's somewhat less purple :) @Neox: He's one of the wandering zone bosses for the new expansion to GA, to give high level players something more to shoot at Also, I too am curious about your render settings. That looks really cool :)
