I'm not sure there is a single key function that does that by default, you might be able to create a custom hotkey but it could be tricky because you would be mapping several actions to the same key.
@rollin yeah, I just did that, it was a tricky shape but I managed to do it by drawing spline on mesh, then converting it to mesh and creating plane for slicing from it. Worked fine I guess.
For some reason can't render with transparent background in 2.77. Does anybody experiencing this issue? Hmm. Created new file, it renders with alpha. Looks like I did something wrong.
pior, maybe a custom tool on the toolshelf that could contain icons for all of those typical actions? I think the toolshelf (T) on the left in 2.5 is sort of like the shelves in max and maya, but one could easily be created on the top aswell. It should not be needed though :), But this is another interesting point, means…
@f1r3w4rr10r Nice work. Wood is the hardest to get right procedurally because of how unique its patterns are. I am yet to see really good looking wood patterns created with substance tbh. I am looking for how to do this in Blender: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuPQNIx3dh8 Creating the textures are easy but how to…
@f1r3w4rr10r World position vector seems to make a constant 3d mask in the world if i pipe it into the color ramp, sound pretty logical if i type it out like this :p Been trying using the particle info node. I get some results with passing the distance of the particle to the emitter but I still can't create a mask in a…
Yup, Hardops was already mentioned in this thread. You can download an Alpha version of it on their YouTube channel for free... I tried it, I'll be honest it isn't revolutionary in any way. It doesn't create new topology or anything, it simply creates bevels and smoothing groups so the appearance looks high-poly. I suppose…
Stellar looking short! I hope they get the funding to create a full-length version. In other news a solid looking texture painting plugin got released: https://youtu.be/ZzcP9EEro-0
no, its not snapping to anything even if i create two cubes out of sight of everything. snap simply doesnt work the only snapping option that works is snap to grid, the others do nothing
@rollin Have you thought about using shapekeys? You can create a shapekey from your vertex positions and then mirror it and apply it. Or am I not understanding your end goal here?
