On a different topic : does anyone know of any addon allowing to replicate the basic BoxCutter workflow (cutting in boolean shapes using rectangles/circles/polylines in screen space) but without all of the overhead of the recent versions BoxCutter ? The 2.8+ iterations of BC are as powerful as ever but the addon is…
im so used to the G-S-R .etc that when i try any other program i keep pushing these buttons unintentionally .. BTW as i know u can rebind any key if that helps . check : Ctrl+Alt+U - input
The UV channel swapping is now implemented. When there is no UV channel it shows a button to quickly generate a UV via smart projection. @Jakro: I managed to actually reduce the code to 1 operator (handles up or down) with 60 lines of code. See source code
The problem in your case is, that you did not duplicate the material, but simply the nodes in the material. The easiest way to assign a copy of a material to another object is this: - assign the material you want to copy to the object, that you want to assign the copy to - click on the number button to the right of the…
Some questions. I'm coming from Modo, and thinking about doing some of the modeling tasks in Blender in the future (love the Hardops/ Boxcutter tools). I'm not sure if Blender really can compete with Modos modeling tools. Maybe you can tell me if Blender can: - deform polygons with a falloff. Not talking about sculpting -…
No. I want to set MMB to act like "sticky key" in XSI. It should activate grab tool with nearest axis snapping mode only while i'm holding it. I intend to use this setup with my wacom. It should work roughly like this: 1. I'm in selection mode and use pen tip to select vertices. I won't accidentally move anything because…
Is middle mouse button behavior hardcoded in transformation mode? I'd like to have custom hotkey, which while pressed activates grab tool and immediately activates ineractive choose axis mode. And when released confirms transformation. Just can't figure it out how to make it.
the other thing i love about blender is when i watch a video like this that shows me a better way to do something i thought i knew how to do in blender. wth, who knew there was a button to visualize stretch in a uvmap?!? http://vimeo.com/21943368
I've just been figuring out how to use Blender for the first time. Learning how to rig, took me a while to find the information collate all the relevant information, and then get a basic one to work. It wasnt as complicated as I thought it, pretty staightforward. Which was contrary to all the tutorials I saw which spent…
I believe they meant how to make sure every mesh starts with 60 as a default. And I don't know the answer! It's not exposed in the settings of creating a primitive, and there's no preference setting I can find. You can easily create a button with Pie Menu Editor or through Python that sets it, though.
