Although I can offer neither of you a definite answer (probably have to wait for EQ for that).. Reeke: If you haven't already, make sure that all your drivers are up to date, or atleast the important ones; -video http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us -sound…
open .cfg files in notepad(as stated in the readme/tutorial thing), invert your green channel in the normals to fix the seam, make sure mesh normals are being exported from max. Its hard to tell exactly what you mean by "no smoothing" it doesnt really look like the uv welding error. This is obvious and will result in…
trying to bring my character into marmoset but it has 2 sets of uv's 1 for the head 1 for the body as its to be imported to unreal. when i export from max i attach everything and open in marmoset but i cant get the model to accept both textures. so is there a way to import 2 meshes at once so i can apply both textures or…
Is there anything I can do about the CPU usage? Just having it idle in the background (the skybox isn't moving) will suck up 70-85% of both cores of my 2.4GHz CPU. I'd like to have it sitting open so I can texture in the background and then reload my maps from time to time to see my progress. I'm not sure why its cpu usage…
Thanks Ben! Grrr, how I hate simple problems that make me spend hours trying to solve it! :poly127: I always ignored the cmd which opens with toolbag and he was showing this error all the time: So on the render to texture window I just did this: Now it's looking fine, the seams need some work and I'll make some texture…
I think the first two lines are normal if you are running Marmoset for the first time. All the rest of the error messages are normal as well. Marmoset Toolbag should still function properly. You are not supposed to have sound or particle folder either. That leads to the next set of questions to determine the cause of the…
Ben Apuna thanks a lot mate ! The issue was with the messed up UV's .. I wouldn't find that in a million years (other than going through each poly), I'm curious how you found it out ? The open edges are a way to force hard edges in smoothing in different engines, and luckily rarely causes issues. Cool, feel free to post…
ok! lets start This tutorial based on this theory :poly124: thanks monkeyscience for the link. Step 1: Get some HDRI image (For Sunlight DIM in future) Step 2: Open it in Photoshop and remove all lightning in the image (use stamp tool or other, but don't convert it to 8 or 16 bit per channel) :) (For Shadow DIM in future)…
Ok I guess I have to ask a noob question, sorry if this has been asked before. Im working in marm for the first time and I want to change my resolution but I dont seem to even have the file it says to open to do that, and I dont seem to have the correct program to open .cfg files. If someone could help me out with that, it…
Odd, I can't tell what I'm clicking on as my cursor seems to be offset somehow. I think I'm clicking on the diffuse button in the mat editor, but no luck. Only when I click about two inches below the actual button does the open dialog box show up. I tried added a spec map, but ended up moving the sliders just above it.…
